Welcome.
I provide private Maths tutoring in the Tonbridge area that's tailored to the specific needs and abilities of each person. I very much look forward to helping you to achieve your goals.
Mark Francis, Personal Tutor
Whether you're at secondary school needing help with GCSEs or the yearly syllabus content, or at primary school and looking for help with the 11+ or SATS, please do get in touch. Whatever your current ability, I'd love to help you achieve all that you are capable of and to stretch you beyond the levels you are currently working at.
I went to school at Judd in Tonbridge and received the top A level grades in Maths, Further Maths and Physics. I have a First Class degree in Geophysics from Durham University. I have experience working with children and young people and teaching in different settings, including whole class, small groups and one-to-one.
I live and work in Tonbridge which means I can offer local, in-person tutoring for students. In my experience, this is by far the most beneficial and productive way to tutor Maths.
The Fundo Foundation
10% of all tuition fees are donated to The Fundo Foundation, helping children in a remote part of Uganda to have access to full education opportunities. Your child's tuition will therefore not only benefit their education but also that of many others in a place where resources and opportunities are far more limited.
Please get in touch
Please do get in touch here if you wish to discuss your child's situation and the support you are looking for.
I can offer one-to-one tutoring for students from year 5 up to year 11, mainly for Maths but also for Physics on request. I can give support with home education both one-to-one and in small groups. Please get in touch for a conversation about your particular needs and requirements and if I can help, I will.
I take a friendly approach to tutoring, wanting Maths to be a subject people enjoy rather than dread.
I'm convinced it's possible for everyone to be able to succeed at Maths, however they feel about the subject.
Maths can defintely be rewarding: it's very satisfiying to successfully work out solutions to problems.
Training the brain to think mathematically, and not only how to answer questions, can make a big difference.
Stretching students a level up from what is expected, even just in small ways, can really help their progress.
Maths is 100% logical: once you get to know the rules for each topic, you can use them to answer questions.
